time to MIX SH*T UP

A 5-Session play-shop for Movement Teachers who are tired of mindless class content

guided by marlo fisken + adam woolley

Teaching movement is incredible!
(we think so, at least)

Teaching movement the same way everyone else does is…
Sad? Super cringe?

If you’ve been feeling the itch to disrupt your own habits, break some sacred tenets, and build classes that re-ignite the body and the brain and the imagination—this is your playground.

Five 90-minute sessions.

Five experiments that can change how you think about leading movement classes forever.

This is not a “sit back and nod politely” kind of training.

This is a:

 “you’ll never look at warm-ups/cues/curriculum/creativity
the same way"

kind of training.

Is this you??

You love teaching movement—

but teaching it the same way everyone else does is slowly numbing you out.

Your warm-ups feel predictable.

Your cues feel same-same.

Your creativity feels like it’s waiting for permission.

You can feel yourself shrinking into the mold you were trained in…

your wanting some weirder, smarter, more alive ideas

You know your students deserve more than mimic-me sequences

and sterile “Level 1-2-3” ladders.

You want to wake people up.

You want to wake yourself up.

You’re tired of classes that look fine but feel flat.

Tired of teaching without feeling the freshness of your delivery.

Tired of nodding along to methods that don’t match what you actually believe about humans, learning, or bodies.

What you want is simple:

To disrupt your own habits.

To stop performing “good teacher.”

To build classes that hit the body, the brain, and the imagination—

instead of just checking boxes.

If you feel that tug in your ribs—the one that says

there has to be a smarter, stranger, more honest way to do this”—

you’re in the right room

the custom busting experience format

→ Five 90-minute sessions

→ Live or replay

→ Each comes with a challenge that gets you actually trying the thing

LOOK AT WHAT WE HAVE PLANNED
SESSION 1: The Warm-Up Shake-Up
Warm-ups have become the most ritualized, least questioned part of a class—even though they set the tone for everything that follows.

We dismantle:

  • mimicry that makes students numb out
  • stale sequences that don’t serve your goals
  • warm-ups that neglect intention

We rebuild:

  • warm-ups as pathways into the group experience
  • warm-ups that engage, not sedate
  • warm-ups that prime curiosity, not compliance

SESSION 2: Shut Up (Respectfully)

Talking fills time.

Movement fills bodies.

Most teachers over-talk because they care.

But too much explanation creates stiff bodies and anxious brains.

In this session we explore:

  • why over-explaining kills the vibe
  • the fallacy of “inclusive = verbose”
  • the magic of affirmative cues
  • how storytelling sticks better than mechanics
  • why preemptive correction is the enemy of learning

SESSION 3: We Got Levels All Wrong

Curriculum, leveling, and difficulty have been treated as gospel.

What if  “advanced” isn’t about the moves you can do, it’s about HOW you do the moves you do?

In practice, “levels” are creating as many problems as they’re solving.

We pay attention to the wrong things when we focus on levels.

Inside this session:

  • how to build adaptable class structures
  • why self-assessment creates safer students
  • using themes instead of “Level 1 / Level 3” classifications
  • empowering students without babying or abandoning them

SESSION 4: Teaching Is a Social Relationship

Teaching movement is not about perfect demos or flawless sequencing.

It’s about relationship, feedback, attunement, community, and the invisible field you create when bodies share space.

In this session:

  • why anonymous classes create anonymous students
  • how to build community without clichés
  • what feedback actually does to learning
SESSION 5: Creativity Isn’t Dessert
Blend creativity and technique so students stop “performing” and start becoming.

Most classes treat creativity as an optional bonus tacked on after “real technique.”

This is backwards.

Every technique has been shaped by creativity—not the other way around.

In this final session we unravel:

how expression makes technique stick
what “play” actually does to motor learning
how to design creative constraints that build skill
how to help students find their voice without forcing artistry

your classes deserve a plot twist
the result

You walk away with:

classes that actually wake people up

cues that land

warm-ups that serve

levels that flex

students who feel seen

creativity that’s woven, not sprinkled

a teaching practice that feels alive again

You won’t just “teach differently.”

You’ll teach in a way that makes you feel like you have options.
